Veritas Prep Senior Earns Perfect ACT Score Facebook Twitter Email This Post Veritas Prep March 19, 2026 Veritas Prep senior Ronak Kapadia reached an extraordinarily rare achievement, earning a perfect 36 on the ACT (American College Test). He has also been named a National Merit Finalist, further demonstrating his academic excellence. “It wasn’t too much of a surprise because I had taken a practice test before and got to 36,” explained Kapadia. “So, I felt like I was ready, and I felt like aiming for that was a realistic goal. But I was still really happy when I found out!” A perfect composite score requires a 36 in all four sections of the test, which include English, Math, Reading, and Science. Scoring a 34 or higher puts you in the top 1% of the more than 2 million test takers, making the highly completive perfect score even more rare, with fewer than 0.2% to 0.5% achieving it. He said he did his homework to prepare before taking the test. “I bought this Princeton review ACT book… I took a practice test just on my own and I graded it myself and I tried to find where my weak spots were.” Math has always been a strong subject for him, so he knew he would do well. “But in the science section, I noticed I had some trouble. So, I worked on the science section.” Kapadia said he took practice tests with the intention of bumping up that science score, while maintaining a high score in the subjects that came easier to him. While Kapadia took personal responsibility to prepare for the test, he attributes a lot of his achievement to the Great Hearts education that he has received at Veritas Prep. “One of the things that I’ve learned over the years has been word choice, grammar, sentence formation, that kind of thing. And that actually made the English section of the ACT much easier for me.” As a National Merit Scholar Finalists, he is among the top 1% top-scoring high school seniors in the nation selected from approximately 16,000 Semifinalists. He has earned this distinction with his high ACT score, by maintaining his outstanding academic records, providing recommendations, and writing essays. Over 15,000 finalists compete for approximately 7,500 scholarships. “That opens up a lot of doorways in terms of what colleges I can attend, what colleges will accept me, and how much how much I’ll have to pay in tuition,” he shared. Kapadia is looking at aerospace engineering as his chosen field of study. “I’ve been told that since I’m really good at science and math, I should go into engineering. But also, I really like solving problems and that’s something that’s very much engineering related. So, I decided on engineering a couple years ago.,” he said. As Kapadia graduates from Veritas Prep this spring and prepares for the next chapter, his accomplishments point to a promising future shaped by discipline and purpose, and grounded in a continued pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
