Thankful Thursday

Great Hearts Academies December 1, 2022

2 students holding a Thank You signToday, in celebration of #ThankfulThursday, we want to express our gratitude for everyone that participated in the nationally recognized #GivingTuesday campaign this week. Gratitude was the theme of the day as each academy shared stories of the outstanding people working, volunteering, and contributing in each academy. We are also grateful to our parents who already support our classrooms through Community Investment.

Together, we raised $367,214 in Community Investment and an additional $52,200 in Arizona Public School Tax Credit donations.

2 students holding a Thank You sign“All of you have had an essential hand in our continued success,” said Great Hearts Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Jay Heiler. “That success includes having been the highest performing multi-school enterprise in Arizona in recent academic achievement measurements, including the highest-performing single school in the state of Arizona (Great Hearts Lincoln lower, led by Toyin Atolagabe and her wonderful faculty).”

With your contributions, you have cultivated intellectual, moral, and civic virtue in thousands of children for years to come. You have given more students in new regions access to a Great Hearts education. You have partnered with us to pioneer new ways to deliver a quality classical education using 21st century technology. And you have reshaped the entire country’s mindset about the purpose of education.

Great Hearts Arizona Superintendent Brandon Crowe believes every child should have access to a world-class education that prepares them to become great-hearted citizens, regardless of geography or household income. “There’s a gap between what we as a public charter receives each year from the state and what it costs to run one of our schools,” said Crowe. “That’s why we’re so grateful and so reliant on your participation and your contribution to help close that gap… so just like we have for the last 20 years and just like we will for the next 20 and beyond, we will continue to fulfill [the Great Hearts] promise in partnership with you.”

Giving Tuesday isn’t the only day that you can contribute to Great Hearts. The classical education offered at Great Hearts relies upon continual partnership. Bridging the gap and continuing to offer a private school education in a public-school setting takes year-round support.  Your gift helps us support our dedicated faculty, keeps our class sizes smaller for more individualized attention, and enables us to offer programs like art, music, and foreign language on a daily basis. You can give by clicking here or by contacting your school and asking to connect to the Family Giving and Community Engagement Officer. 100% of your contribution stays in the academy.

“Thank you once again for your contribution, your participation, and for all your support and partnership as we work together, we wish you a wonderful beginning to the New Year,” said Crowe.
