Open Enrollment Begins at Great Hearts Harveston

Open Enrollment for the 2026–27 school year at Great Hearts Harveston  is open and will run through December 19, 2025. Families who apply during this period will be included in the enrollment lottery, with initial offers extended on January 14, 2026. This is an exciting time for the East Baton Rouge community in Louisiana, as we open our doors to new students and families eager to join a classical school where learning is both challenging and joyful, and where the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty shapes every lesson, conversation, and day.

“Open Enrollment is a special time of year for us because we get to offer something unique and special to Baton Rouge at no cost,” shared Head of Lower School Julie Harris. “It’s always exciting to think of all the new faces we will see next fall!”

Families who submit applications during the open enrollment period will be entered into the lottery, which determines seat offers for the upcoming school year. If more applications are received than available seats, each application will be randomly assigned a number and offers will be extended in that order. Families who do not receive an offer on January 14th will be placed on a waitlist according to their lottery number. Students with siblings currently enrolled at Great Hearts Harveston receive priority in the lottery, increasing, but not guaranteeing, their chances of acceptance.

Current Great Hearts families with new, incoming students, such as an incoming kindergartner, must also submit an application for each new student during the open enrollment period to ensure inclusion in the lottery process. Families of current students who plan to return for the 2026–27 school year will complete re-enrollment paperwork during a later date to confirm their student’s intent to return.

For those who don’t want to wait until next fall, limited seats remain available for the current 2025–2026 school year. Interested families are encouraged to apply now and experience the Great Hearts difference right away.
