Young Hearts Celebrates Growth, Graduation, and Expansion Facebook Twitter Email This Post Young Hearts June 11, 2025 When 29 little graduates in caps and gowns walked across the stage at Young Hearts Preschool this past May, parents beamed with pride. For eight of those graduating preschoolers, the moment was extra special. It marked the end of an era that started when they were just three years old, walking into preschool for the very first time. Young Hearts is the preschool and pre-K program of Great Hearts Academies, with a location at Great Hearts Roosevelt in Buckeye and a new campus opening in August at Great Hearts Cicero in Scottsdale. The program is designed to give young children a strong start, with a focus on building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. RSVP: Open House at Young Hearts Scottsdale At Young Hearts, children thrive in a setting where the day flows in a consistent, gentle rhythm. From the moment they arrive in the morning, they are greeted with warmth and care. “Learning is supported through clear segments throughout the day focusing on play, movement, rest,” explained School Director Corin Lewis. “This balance supports healthy development.” The preschool and pre-K classes use Teaching Strategies, a research-based curriculum that aligns with Arizona’s Early Learning Standards. Learning at Young Hearts happens in ways that feel natural and joyful. Children begin recognizing letters by finding them in their own names. They are introduced to storybooks, songs, and other printed materials throughout the day, which helps build early reading skills. Numbers are part of everyday dialog, helping children understand counting and simple math ideas through counting out loud and using number words in conversations. The classroom is full of materials that support motor development. Children use scissors, chalk, sponges, markers, and paintbrushes to strengthen their fine motor skills while expressing their creativity. Teachers are attentive, encouraging, and intentional in how they guide students to explore, ask questions, and practice new skills. Young Hearts is a place where children are known and loved. Parents feel at ease knowing their little ones are in a safe, engaging environment that honors each child’s development. Families who already know and trust the Great Hearts approach to classical education will appreciate the way Young Hearts lays a thoughtful foundation for kindergarten and beyond. With the opening of the new campus in Scottsdale, even more families will have the opportunity to be part of the Young Hearts community. It’s a place where children grow with joy, where learning is meaningful, and where each child is nurtured. Enroll today at https://younghearts.greatheartsamerica.org/enroll/.
