Winners of the 2018 Great Hearts Spelling Bee Announced

From cordial to malihini, we bore witness to the triumphs and sorrows of a group of truly admirable scholars as they engaged in a competition that tested their skill, displayed their fortitude, and tried their luck. Without further ado, we  are pleased to announce the Champion and runners up of the 2018 Great Hearts Spelling Bee.

Our 2018 Great Hearts Spelling Bee Champion is Srihaas Ghanta, a fourth-grader hailing from Archway Trivium East. Congratulations and best of luck to Srihaas, who will be representing himself, his school, and his Great Hearts community at the Region 5 Spelling Bee of Maricopa County.

Also progressing to regional bees throughout Maricopa County are:

• Zoe Delgado, an eighth-grade student from Trivium Prep and our first runner-up, who will be going to the Region 5 bee with Srihaas;
• Simran Bhalla, a fourth-grader from Archway Chandler, and the second runner-up in our competition, who will be competing in the Region 6 bee of Maricopa County;
• Nannan Aravazhi, a seventh-grade student from Cicero Prep and our third runner-up, who will be moving on to the Region 2 bee.

Each of these students will be competing at their regional bees for the chance to go to the Arizona State Spelling Bee, where they may win the honor of attending the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Congratulations to our winners! We wish them all the best.
