Veritas Prep Homecoming Was a Night to Remember Facebook Twitter Email This Post Veritas Prep October 14, 2025 The energy was electric at Veritas Prep as more than 1,500 fans packed the sidelines for one of the school’s most anticipated traditions — the annual Homecoming Football Game and Tailgate. Once the gates opened, the crowd poured in. Families caught up under string lights as the smell of tailgate food carried across the lot. At the heart of this community celebration was parent volunteer Kelly Grove, who chaired the tailgate and helped bring the event to life. “Kelly is a super mom and super volunteer,” shared Lily Tirone, PSO Co-President. “She put this all together for us, and it’s truly a highlight of our year.” The halftime show was a true standout, featuring both the Archway Veritas little cheerleaders and the Veritas Prep Spirit Line, who debuted a brand-new routine crafted just for the big game. “It’s super fun. I think it’s one of our best ones yet and it’s really fast and fun,” said 9th-grade cheerleader Teagan Sullivan before the performance. “There are a lot of cool moves, and we hope everyone loves it!” Veritas Prep’s Headmaster Theresa Weiland credited the event’s success to a shared vision and tireless teamwork. “I’m so grateful to the genius of Coach [Mike] Sanfratello, Athletic Director Chase Beebe, and our parent volunteers for the vision of this night,” she said. Their leadership ensured the evening celebrated the school’s unity and pride. As the sun set and the crowd roared, anticipation for kickoff reached a fever pitch. “There’s a lot going on here tonight,” Tirone said with a smile. “The energy is high, and we’re expecting a win.” And they did, with a commanding 41-0 victory that cemented Veritas Prep’s as the #1 2A football team in Arizona with a 7-0 record. By the end of the night, as families, students, alumni, and faculty came together under the stadium lights, one thing was clear:Homecoming at Veritas Prep is a celebration of community, tradition, and heart.
