Veritas Prep Alum Sam Zook Goes Pro in the Philippines

From dominating the soccer field in a Falcons jersey to playing on the global stage, Veritas Prep alum Sam Zook, who graduated from the Great Hearts academy in 2021, has officially signed with Stallion Laguna FC, a 1st Division professional team in the Philippines.

Stallion Laguna Football Club is a Filipino professional football club based in Biñan, Laguna. The club competes in the Philippines Football League, the top tier of football in the country.

In a recent Instagram post announcing the news, Zook shared, “I just wanted to thank God because without Him none of this would be possible, as well as all my previous coaches and teammates who helped me get here! Always remember that no matter what you go through, if you keep faith anything is achievable.”

Back in his high school days, he was a key player on Veritas Prep’s 2020 3A Boys Soccer State Championship team, and after graduation, he continued his career at Central College. But his ambitions didn’t stop there.

“After graduating I spent some time playing college soccer. My family and I then thought it would be best to put college on pause and chase my dream fully. I then made the jump over to Europe to play a few stints in Spain. Now I am playing in Asia,” he shared.

Zook credits his time at Veritas Prep with shaping his athletic skills as well as his mindset. “Veritas not only helped me on the field, but also in my everyday life. I have been able to apply the very lessons taught to us in the classroom to my life and believe it has been a very crucial part of my success. I am very grateful of the time I spent at Veritas and don’t believe I would be where I am today without it!”

From the 2020 State Championship to the top division of Philippine professional soccer, Zook’s story is proof that faith, perseverance, and hard work can take you anywhere.
