Trivium Prep Athletes Commit to Compete in College Sports

Trivium Prep April 8, 2026

Trivium Prep celebrated as two of their seniors signed their letters of intent to play college sports during a special signing ceremony. They were surrounded by family, faculty, fellow classmates, and their teammates who showed their support during this incredible milestone.

“Today is one of the best days of a coaching career, of an athletic administrator career,” shared Trivium PrepAthletic Director, Derek Wahlstrom, as he introduced seniors Madison Hager and William Kelley. “Only 7% of high school athletes go on to play at the collegiate level and less than 2% earn a college scholarship. And so, what we are witnessing here is the elite and it’s what these two have worked so hard to accomplish.”

Hager will be playing beach volleyball with Southern Virginia University, while Kelley will play football for Arizona Christian University. They both chose Christian universities, something they said was important to them.

Hager is excited for her next chapter in Virginia. “It’s a very close-knit community, which I’m already used to, going to Trivium [Prep].” Although she’s heading to the other side of the country for college, the university offers even more similarities to her current academy, right down to its mascot and school colors. “I was beyond overjoyed to find out that their mascot is a knight and their colors are red and white. That’s perfect. It’s made for me.”

She has played beach volleyball for the last four years. “I’m usually a defender or split blocker and honestly, it’s just been an outlet for me and no matter what’s going on in my life, it’s just a place where I can go and just be on the beach with some of my closest friends and just play.”

Kelley has committed to Arizona Christian University for football after a successful high school career as a running back. “It’s amazing,” he explained. “Watching plays develop and being able to use the opportunities your friends give you is amazing.

He is excited to play with the ACU Firestorm. “It’s a very good school. Its athletic program is very good. I thought it was incredibly important to go to a good school. Kelley also appreciates the school’s close proximity to family. “I have a lot of family in Phoenix and it’s a lot easier for them to go to games if I play here.”

As they both head into a new season of life after graduation, they will take with them the character that has been developed within them at Trivium Prep, both in academics and athletics.
