Trivium Prep 7th Grader Wins Art Contest
Trivium Preparatory 7th grader, Sarah Obermyer, was selected as one of 10 winners in an art contest sponsored by the Phoenix Suns and Southwest Airlines; she had to depict on a poster-sized paper what freedom means to her.
She was awarded with an all-inclusive trip to Memphis, Tenn. Before checking her bags, Southwest Airlines let Sarah hop up baggage conveyor belt to take a picture with her artwork, and then announced her to the people in the terminal before they boarded.
The Suns and Southwest Airlines took her and her parents to the historical sites and museums (including the National Civil Right Museum, and the Cotton Exchange). Their trip in Memphis concluded with the game between the Suns and the Grizzlies.
