Volunteers fill boxes with school suppliesStudio Ma and Alexander Building Company partnered with Back 2 School America (B2SA) to assemble 670 free school supply kits to benefit underserved Maryvale students on Friday, August 3rd for the new campuses inaugural enrollment year.  The event is part of B2SA’s build-a-kit program, in which companies or community groups purchase bulk school supplies from the educational non-profit and assemble them into grade-specific school supply kits, which (upon completion) are given to children from low-income families, in an effort to meet the educational needs of those students.

The new Maryvale Preparatory campus represents another step forward for Great Hearts Academies, expanding access for students to benefit from the organization’s mission of providing tuition-free public charter schools focused on a classical, liberal arts curriculum. Students convene and study in modern classrooms, including science labs, art studios, and music rooms. The campus facilities boast a large gymnasium with a split basketball-volleyball court, locker rooms, football field and a 500-seat performing arts center set to open in Spring 2019.
