Great Hearts Roosevelt Summer Bash Brings Buckeye Community Together Facebook Twitter Email This Post Great Hearts Roosevelt July 7, 2025 Families from across the West Valley packed the Great Hearts Roosevelt campus for the annual Summer Bash, an event that’s quickly become a can’t-miss kickoff to the school year. With water slides, games, and food trucks, the Bash brings together both new and returning families, turning a simple idea into one of the area’s biggest school events. “We’re here at the Great Hearts Roosevelt Summer Bash and this started a couple of years ago when we were starting the school out and thought, ‘Hey, let’s get the community together before we really start school,’” said Brandon Crowe, Great Hearts Arizona Superintendent. “We’re just doing it again.” Now entering its fourth year, Great Hearts Roosevelt continues to grow in enrollment and reputation. This year’s bash saw over 900 attendees enjoying activities, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with the school community. “Today we have a great event going on,” said Cosette Soto, Marketing Coordinator and event planner. “We have a ton of activities and attractions going on. We’ve got partner booths including our wonderful enrollment team, our careers team for all of Great Hearts. We also have our preschool, Young Hearts, that’s joining us. Orbit Church and our security company that works with all of our schools. So, we’re really thankful for all of them showing up.” With multiple food trucks, raffle prizes including $100 gift cards and backpacks full of school supplies, and plenty of family-friendly fun, the bash provided entertainment with a tangible expression of Great Hearts Roosevelt’s commitment to cultivating community. “It is a little hot out, but our families are still coming and enjoying creative ways to cool off and have fun,” Soto added. Tony Cruz, Headmaster of Roosevelt Prep, emphasized the event’s deeper purpose. “I think we’ve learned that people want to have a sense of belonging to a place that they want to bring their kids. And so that’s what we’re trying to do. Build community, build belonging. And so that’s what this is on a beautiful Phoenix evening, you know, with 110° weather. It’s great.” Cruz also offered a warm invitation to families still looking for a school that values academic excellence and character development. “We would love for families who are not enrolled at Great Hearts to enroll today. There are still seats available in multiple grade levels. And we’re asking if you’re interested at all in being a part of a classical education, we want you to enroll.” Located in the heart of the West Valley, Great Hearts Roosevelt is a public charter school offering a tuition-free classical liberal arts education to students in grades K–11, with plans to expand to 12th grade. The school blends timeless content and values with the tools students need to thrive in today’s world, preparing them to think clearly, act virtuously, and live purposefully.
