Chandler Prep Alumna Returns to Talk About Her Work in the Peace Corps Facebook Twitter Email This Post Chandler Preparatory Academy January 24, 2019 Emily Michael (Chandler Prep Class of 2012) recently returned to discuss her current work in the Peace Corps with current students. After graduating from The University of Arizona in 2016 she joined the Peace Corps. Emily is an Education Volunteer in Uganda, serving as a Literacy Specialist at a primary school in Arua, West Nile region. Besides working with teachers and pupils to improve reading, Emily is an advocate and trainer for sexual harassment support and an organizer for HIV interventions both in Arua and across Uganda. She has one more year in Peace Corps working with Catholic Relief Services, where her focus will be supporting a dedicated team improving health outcomes for orphans and vulnerable children.
