Celebrating Grandparents Day at Great Hearts Academies Facebook Twitter Email This Post Great Hearts Academies September 5, 2025 National Grandparents Day is celebrated each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day, which falls on Sunday, September 7th. At Great Hearts, this special occasion allows us to honor and give thanks for the incredible role grandparents and older adult mentors play in the lives of our students and families. At Great Hearts Christian Academies – Maryvale, grandparents were warmly welcomed to campus for a memorable morning. They joined their grandchildren in chapel, singing together and spending time in devotionals and prayer, before stepping into classrooms to work side by side on a special art project that they completed together. The day was filled with smiles and conversations from both generations. Meanwhile, at Young Hearts Preschools, grandparents shared in heartwarming activities designed to celebrate family and create keepsake memories. They made colorful handprints with their grandchildren, built simple friendship bracelets, and enjoyed the chance to sit down and read stories together. These activities not only brought joy to the children but also allowed grandparents to experience firsthand the nurturing environment of Young Hearts. For young scholars, Grandparents Day is a reminder that they are part of a larger story. For grandparents and older adults, it is a time to see the growth, joy, and virtue being cultivated daily in their grandchildren’s lives and a to share their wisdom and perspectives with this new generation of learners.
