Arete Prep Graduate is Set to Report to the US Naval Academy

Dhruv Rattan reports to the US Naval Academy on June 29th 2023 for Basic Training. (Also called Plebe Summer). During this time along with all the other Plebes, Dhruv will be exposed to military drills, learn seamanship and navigation skills, damage control, sailing and handling yard craft, training in moral, mental, physical and professional team building activities. He will have the opportunity to receive a BS with a major in 1 of 26 subjects offered over a 4 year undergraduate program. Upon graduation, Dhruv will be eligible to receive a commission into the US Navy or Marine Corps as an officer.

Dhruv’s inspiration to join the Navy started at younger age, hearing stories about his grand father who served in the Indian Navy for close to 40 years. Dhruv also received a lot of guidance and support from past seniors at Arete, who joined a Service Academy and also veterans, who shared their own ‘why’ and value of joining a service academy. His belief in the concept of service or to serve, desire to seek knowledge through diverse experiences and the opportunity be exposed to bleeding edge technology, make the service academy an ideal destination.

Dhruv is exited to start his journey.
