Great Hearts Opens Newest Campus in North Phoenix
Leading Valley charter network opens its doors to record number of students at its North Phoenix academies
PHOENIX, Ariz.— August 7, 2017— Great Hearts Academies will welcome students to their first day of school on August 10th at its newest campus in Phoenix. The campus serves as a new home to two of the network’s growing academies, Archway North Phoenix and North Phoenix Prep, which opened in the fall of 2012 on the leased campus of Dream City Church. The new campus is on the other side of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve at the northwest corner of 32nd St. and Hearn, between Greenway and Thunderbird.
“Our new campus opens its doors after more than two years of work and planning, and is made possible by generous donations from our parents and community leaders,” said Paul Weinhold, Headmaster of North Phoenix Prep. “The new campus meets the precise needs of our students and our educational model. We are excited about the design, and eagerly anticipate welcoming our students to school this week.”
The new campus serves students in grades K-12 in co-located academies and will accommodate approximately 1,280 students on opening day, and 1,600 students at full capacity. The educational space includes science labs, student library, art studios, music and drama rooms and a full-size gymnasium, in addition to other amenities.
“We are truly excited to be able to serve more students in the North Phoenix area than ever before,” shared Joy Hanks, Headmaster of Archway North Phoenix. “The start of a new school year is a time of boundless energy and excitement, especially with a brand-new campus, and we look forward to serving all of our young scholars.”
With the additional capacity, Great Hearts North Phoenix will welcome additional students in the 2018/2019 school year. The enrollment period for the 2018/2019 school year is from November 13th through December 11th, 2017. For more information about enrolling please visit the Great Hearts enrollment web page.
