Get Your Preschooler Ready for Kindergarten with Great Hearts Harveston’s Kinder Readiness Program

Great Hearts Harveston May 2, 2024

Kinder boy and girlIs your preschooler gearing up for kindergarten? Give them a head start with the Kinder Readiness program at Great Hearts Harveston! From June 3rd to 14th, 2024, we’re launching a fun-filled two-week program in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, aimed at preparing your little one for their big school debut. Running daily from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, this program is perfect for smoothing out first-day nerves and sparking a lifelong passion for learning.

Vincent Tolliver, our campus coordinator, shares his enthusiasm: “The beauty of the Kinder Readiness Program is watching those first-day jitters turn into excitement and smiles. We introduce our future kindergarteners to the school setting and their new classmates early on, transforming anxiety into anticipation.”

According to a teacher at our sister school, Great Hearts Roosevelt in Arizona, students who participated in a similar readiness program “were noticeably more comfortable, confident, and less fearful when they walked into the classroom for the first time.”

Tolliver understands that starting kindergarten is a big step for little ones and their parents alike. That’s why our program goes beyond academic skills, focusing also on emotional and social readiness. Through a mix of playful and engaging activities, your child will get to know their new school, learn routine classroom activities, and make new friends—all in a fun and interactive setting.

But there’s more to Kinder Readiness than just prep for school—it lays the groundwork for a fulfilling educational journey. We emphasize crucial social skills like empathy, teamwork, and respect. From group projects to team-building games and thoughtful discussions, we’re dedicated to fostering a community where every child feels included and valued.

Tolliver adds, “Early friendships and familiarity with teachers can make all the difference. These early bonds not only ease the transition but also set a positive tone for the school year ahead.”

Our program also helps create meaningful connections, instilling a sense of trust and comfort that eases the move into kindergarten. Our educators are passionate about creating a caring and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to excel.

“At the heart of our program,” Tolliver explains, “is our commitment to creating a welcoming culture that celebrates diversity, sparks curiosity, and cultivates a love of learning. We focus on building a community where every child feels a sense of belonging and mutual respect, paving the way for a happy and successful school experience.”

Join us to foster a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere where your preschooler can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
