Great Hearts Announces Newest Campus in Northwest San Antonio

TEA A-Rated charter network will open new facility for 2019/2020 school year

SAN ANTONIO, TX. – September 12, 2018 – Great Hearts Academies has announced plans for a fourth campus in San Antonio near the intersection of Prue Road and Research Drive on the Northwest side of the city. Great Hearts will break ground on the new campus, Great Hearts Forest Heights, in September and open its doors in August 2019. Mr. Jason Doughty has been named the academy’s founding headmaster and brings with him years of experience with the Great Hearts classical, liberal arts mission, and an excellent track record in school leadership.Great Hearts Forest Heights Rendering

The new campus will initially serve 600 students in grades K-5 and expand a grade level each year until it becomes a fully enrolled K-12 campus. Phase I construction starts this Fall and Phase II will begin in subsequent years. At full capacity, the school will accommodate approximately 1,400 students.

Great Hearts academies are tuition-free, public schools that offer a rigorous classical liberal arts curriculum including advanced math and science, robust arts and foreign language classes, and a wide range of extra-curricular activities and athletics. The core purpose of Great Hearts is to cultivate the minds and hearts of students through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
