Get to Know Scottsdale Prep’s 2017 Valedictorian Facebook Twitter Email This Post Scottsdale Preparatory Academy May 23, 2017 Scottsdale Prep Valedictorian, Jaywon Kim Jaywon Kim will be attending the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on Interdisciplinary Studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Her long-term goal is to pursue law school with a focus on International Law for non-governmental organizations. Jaywon accredits Humane Letters and Speech and Debate for giving her a solid foundation. Jaywon’s achievements are numerous including perfect SAT scores in Critical Reading and Math. She served as Concert Master in the student orchestra and watched it grow over the years. Her mentor is Mr. Clement who taught her to preserve through failure and hardship. Jaywon was recognized as an outstanding leader by the Rotary Youth Salute in her junior year and was selected as Student of the Year in Arizona by the Speech and Debate Association. She is also a two- time state champion in Public Forum Debate. Her favorite memory at Scottsdale Prep is Hegel’s bagels in Humane Letters, and her favorite food is Hot Cheetos!
